Skull of Australopithecus Africanus

Discovered at Sterkfontein (Transvaal, South-Africa), in 1947. Found in the stratum of "Member 4" (formerly: Lower Breccia).

The skull has been dated to the Lower Pliocene Age, approximately 2.5 - 3.0 million years old. The teeth and lower jaw have been reconstructed with the aid of other original finds from "Member 4" at Sterkfontein.
