A colourful and easy to read educational poster that’s perfect for kids and teachers. It’s an ideal teaching aid that helps kids understand how their body works by illustrating the major organs of their digestive and circulatory systems using anatomically correct diagrams.
Digestion and Blood Circulation Anatomy Poster
Young children will never run out of questions to ask their parents and teachers. Even the most basic things like where your food goes after eating or what the heart does seem like a great mystery to them.
This educational poster is a great teaching aid that helps explain and illustrate how the digestive and circulatory systems work, and how each affects their everyday lives. Just using words to describe body parts that can’t be easily seen is often not enough for kids to visualise how the body’s fundamental systems function. Most children know what the heart and stomach is, but very few actually understand what these body parts do and why they are very important.
Helping Kids Understand the Digestive and Circulatory Systems
The Digestion and Blood Circulation Poster is part of the Kids Anatomy series by Bruce Algra Posters – an American company that specialises in health and fitness posters for schools and classrooms. This and the other offerings in the Kids Anatomy Poster series were developed with Preschool to Year 3 students in mind.
The left side shows the basic structure of the digestive system and highlights each major organ in different colours so that kids can better identify how the organs look and where they are located in the body. It clearly shows how food ends up in the stomach and helps children understand how important eating right is to living a healthy life. Every digestive organ is numbered and also colour coded with its corresponding name at the bottom. A drawing of a young girl is used to so that even small children can better relate to the diagram.
The right side shows a little boy with a complete diagram of how blood flows through the body. It shows the heart at the core of the circulatory system and labels all the major arteries and veins in the body. Arteries are coloured in red while veins are coloured blue. With the aid of this diagram, students can better understand how much work the heart does to pump blood throughout the entire body. Kids will also learn why their heart beats faster whenever they are playing and having fun, as well as how heart rates or their pulse can be easily felt through the arteries in the neck and forearms.
The Digestive and Circulatory System Poster is ideal for any science, health or physical education class. It can also be posted on the walls of a nurse’s clinic or paediatrician office. Even without any formal instruction, kids can easily learn from the diagrams just by looking and reading the clearly marked labels. It is designed to be relatively simple to avoid confusing their young minds, yet still accurate and detailed enough to allow more complex concepts to be introduced once the fundamental concepts have been fully established.
